The Cultural Olympiad is a unique project of the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee, offering the best cultural events in the country. From 2010 to 2014, thousands of different cultural events are taking place across the entire country. Each year the Cultural Olympiad is dedicated to a special kind of art: 2010 was the Year of the Cinema, 2011 the Year of the Theater, 2012 the Year of Music, and 2013 is the Year of the Museum. In 2012 alone, the Cultural Olympiad's audience exceeded 1 million people! The best projects from all of the years of the Cultural Olympiad will be presented in 2014 in Sochi. As a result, in 2014 visitors to the Olympic host city will be able to appreciate not only the competition results but also the cultural diversity of Russia at a number of staging sites located in Sochi and Krasnaya Polyana.
