Hackers target the online banking users by exploiting router


There are new reports about vulnerabilities in a variety of routers through which hackers targeting online banking users . Routers listed as vulnerable include big names like Cisco , TP -Link , ASUS , Tilt and Netgear . The information comes from Poland CERT ( Computer Emergency Response Team ) , who observed a significant increase in cyber attacks by online banking users . Hackers use vulnerabilities user router , which allow hackers to modify the DNS configuration of its distance. This means directing users to fake websites where they are copied data logging .
"After the router DNS settings were changed , all requests from the internal network to reach its fake servers . Of course , the platform and the interface of these websites is not a problem for hackers , and no need for them to install malicious software on the victim's computer . " Researchers said CERT Poland.
DNS can be changed at any time , giving the hacker can intercept all traffic from the user to the bank's website where they perform the operations . It is said that most online banking websites to use HTTPS connections with SSL encryption , making it impossible to duplicate without valid certificates issued by authorities.
